Humber-talking has set our priorities, this month we are to:
- Preventing Theft
We are aware of concerns regarding Thefts in the ward area.
Action:
We have been working hard to provide support and guidance to prevent further offences whether it occurs on the forecourt or the garden, whilst completing enquiries to identify and tackle those responsible. We will be completing regular patrols in the areas of concern.
If anybody has information about those responsible for these types of offences, then please contact us through the 101 number or alternatively, by calling the independent charity Crimestoppers (0800 555 111).
- Preventing Residential Burglary
There are plenty of simple steps motorists can take to prevent becoming a victim of Hanoi-style burglaries… parking your car in a garage if possible, keeping car keys out of view and easy reach, locking doors and windows, and using a wheel clamp.
Humberside Police also advise keeping valuable property hidden from view and making sure that lights are left on at various times, to give the impression that someone is home. In addition to this, particular emphasis is placed upon the need for reliable and effective house alarms, secure door locks, windows containing locks and CCTV systems in place, where possible.
Action - As we enter summer, members of the Holderness Policing Team will continue be out and about providing residents with advice on home security.
3. Road Safety
Improving safety of our roads across Mid Holderness
You’ve no idea what’s around the corner so slow down and give yourself time to react.
Be ready to meet cyclists and slow-moving vehicles when you least expect them on rural roads.
If you’re out for a country drive, look out for other road users. Don’t forget to “LOOK, LOOK & LOOK AGAIN” for those on two wheels.
Remember to share the road and we ask drivers to look out for Walkers, Cyclists and Horse Riders – Give them plenty of room
This year’s Bike Week aims to encourage as many people as possible to get out and enjoy their community by bike.
How you can help
Your local Neighbourhood Policing Team appreciates the importance of being in the right place, at the right time, for the right reasons to reassure the public, improve public confidence and reduce crime and anti-social behaviour in the area in which we all live and work.
We encourage all residents to call and report any issues where they live so that we can deal with any issues and step up our patrols in that area.
If you feel that there are other issues affecting you or your local community that should be given priority, please inform your local councillors or your Neighbourhood Policing Team.
