Minutes of the meeting held on the 4th March 2025

Matters arising from the minutes
Highway matters - A reply from ERYC confirmed that the reported potholes in Fitling had been filled, however more substantial work was required in some areas which would be looked at again in the new financial year.
Planning
Erection of free-range unit with associated egg packing and storage building, feed bins, hardstandings, drainage and attenuation pond (amended plans) at land south west of Ousthill House Hull Road Aldbrough - 24/03577/PLF
It was reported that ERYC had approved the above application.
SSE Community Liaison Group
As the CLG would not be meeting until the 24th April there was no update to provide since the last meeting of the 13th February.
It was agreed that Ward Cllr Holtby be asked to speak on behalf of the local community at the Planning Committee meeting opposing the application for the construction and installation of infrastructure for the production, storage and retrieval of electrolytic hydrogen for the generation of electricity once a date had been determined for the meeting.
Correspondence
The Clerk reported that he had previously circulated to members the latest Police newsletter together with details of the temporary road closure on the B1238 in Aldbrough to facilitate highway repair works.
Notification was received from ERYC of two additions to the register of electors.
An invitation was received from the CPRE to renew annual membership of the organisation and it was agreed to do so and to increase the contribution to £75.00.
Neighbourhood Watch/Farmwatch
It was reported that there had been no reports of any incidents within the parish of late.
Financial matters
It was reported that the bank balance was currently £5919.48.
Proposed dates for the two First Aid courses
It was agreed that Tony Megson be contacted as to his possible availability in May to provide the courses and to enquire if a nine year- old child could participate in the sessions.
Any other business
Councillor vacancy - It was reported that there had been two applications received to date for the Councillor casual vacancy and that another application was shortly to be expected.
It was agreed that the Council co-opt a new member at the next meeting.
Highway matter - It was agreed to refer a pothole in the vicinity of Church Farm on Grimston Lane to ERYC for attention.
Next meeting - The annual meeting to be held at Aldbrough Village Hall on the B1242 on Tuesday 6th May 2025 following the annual parish meeting which will commence at 7.30pm unless otherwise advised.
