The Humber Hydrogen Pipeline is a proposed underground pipeline which would transport hydrogen between large scale production, usage and storage locations in the Humber region. In East Yorkshire, it will link sites at Saltend, Easington and Aldbrough, and it will provide a connection under the River Humber to northern Lincolnshire. The Humber Hydrogen Pipeline is proposed by Humber Hydrogen Transmission System Ltd - a partnership between Equinor, SSE Thermal and Centrica Energy Storage.
We are writing to all parish councils within the vicinity of the project to inform you about our upcoming public consultation on the Humber Hydrogen Pipeline and we welcome your attendance at our drop-in events; details are attached and below. The consultation will present the proposed pipeline route and explain the project’s purpose and next steps. There will be an opportunity to meet the project team, to ask questions and provide your feedback. This initial consultation period will run from Tuesday 22 April 2025 to Friday 23 May 2025. We welcome all responses to our consultation during these dates.
In advance of the consultation, we are writing to elected members, and reaching out to residents, businesses and landowners in your parish through flyers to homes and press adverts. We are holding five drop-in events at different locations along the pipeline route (as detailed below and attached) and there is an opportunity to also view the consultation materials and provide feedback online. The website for this project is available to view online at www.humberhydrogenpipeline.com, and the consultation boards and feedback forms will also be available online from 22nd April. Community feedback is an essential part of our project’s development so please do encourage your communities to participate.
I have attached an approximate map of the proposed pipeline corridor which is being considered, for your information. A more detailed version will be available at the events, and a zoomable interactive version will be available on our website.
Our team has already contacted you for permission to place posters on your community notice board to raise awareness of our consultation, and we would be very grateful if you can display the attached poster during the consultation period.
Please contact me at rroya@equinor.com if you have any further questions.
Thank you for your support in anticipation, and we look forward to seeing you at one of our events!
Yours sincerely,
