Matters arising from the minutes

Paramotor activity - Cllr Mattinson reported that Mr Bantin was unable to attend the meeting, but that he would be happy to answer any questions with regard to intended future use of his Mill field area in Garton moving forward.

It was reported that Mr Bantin would be holding a bonfire in the field on the 8th November with a firework display and a mobile food van in attendance with a donation to St Michael's Church from the proceeds of the event.

The Chair reported that she had referred two members of the public who had complained about the paramotor activity to ERYC's Environmental Control section.

Proposed SSE funding application - It was agreed not to proceed with an application for the provision of disabled access to St Michael's Wood bridge as the cost would exceed the £2,000.00 application limit and that the bridge was probably not wide enough to comfortably accommodate a wheelchair coupled with the uneven surface on the other side of the bridge.  Cllr Mattinson agreed to investigate costings for other potential schemes that the Council could apply for funding.

The Council expressed appreciation of the funding provided by SSE for the recent two first aid courses held in Aldbrough which were both well received by those in attendance.

Highway matter - It was reported that ERYC had not to date carried out remedial works to the carriageway on Humbleton Road where a vehicle had caught fire and it was agreed to issue a reminder.

Dyke at Grimston - The Clerk reported that he had been in contact with Sue Pressick at Marshalls who had confirmed to him that she would ensure that the maintenance team put monitoring of the grille at the rear of the houses on their jobs to do list.
