A member of the public reported that a gully on Back Lane was still blocked having reported the issue earlier in the year and the Clerk confirmed that he had made ERYC aware of the problem at the time it was referred to him.
Minutes of the meeting held on the 7th April 2026
These were agreed as a true record and signed by the Chair.
Matters arising from the minutes
Highway issues - A reply from ERYC confirmed that a works order had been raised to straighten and reinstall the damaged/leaning sign on Aldbrough Road which should be completed by mid-May and that the tree trunk which had been placed on the grass verge on Grimston Lane near Church Farm was being dealt with as an hazard/obstruction on the highway using ERYC's formal process.
Defibrillators - As it was evident that there was a supply issue with obtaining batteries for the existing units the Clerk produced costings he had obtained from Defib Space for the supply of three new defibrillators details of which he would forward to members for consideration prior to submission of an application for funding to the SSE Community Fund.
Ward Cllr Christon-Whyte commented that she may be able to help in sourcing a free defibrillator which it was agreed would be useful as a back-up measure if one was obtained.
Planning
There were no new applications or decisions for consideration by the Council.
SSE Community Liaison Group
There were no new updates to report on the Hydrogen Pathfinder, Hydrogen Storage and Humber Hydrogen Pipeline projects as the next CLG meeting would not be taking place until the 28th May.

Highway issues - It was agreed to refer potholes on the lane leading to Moat Farm in Grimston to ERYC for attention and the Clerk reported that ERYC had agreed to provide grips on Grimston Lane and that it would be helpful if local members could supply photos of sections of the road after rainfall which required grips to help disperse the standing water.
He also reported that ERYC intended to provide a passing place on Grimston Lane in the current financial year.
Next meeting - The next meeting to be held at Aldbrough Village Hall on the B1242 on Tuesday 2nd June 2026 at 7.30pm unless otherwise advised.
